Where I mention BANKER below, this signifies those matches where I think the favourites should win. These matches I would personally prioritise as regards DRT.

Remember the strategies:

Lay the 0-0 halftime score in certain signalled matches

Lay the 0-0 2nd half in matches where goals were expected but have not yet materialised

Lay the 2-2 scoreline, especially early on in matches. 2-2 shows us that teams are scoring and conceding.

Lay the away team leading 0-2 before halftime, especially if they are not the pre-market favourites. The home team is usually galvanised by the halftime team talk.

Lay the underdog if they score first in certain matches (especially BANKER matches where I would back the BANKERS if they conceded first at enhanced odds).

Lay the underdog scoring early in the first half, in the HALF TIME market, especially in BANKER matches.

Do note matches where one team is red carded. The opponents do tend to score next more often than not.

Goodness me, what a deflating football coupon today. My matches of interest would include Guangzhou, Tottenham, Grodig and Sevilla today. The Romanian matches are dead rubbers and the Greek Super League match is a play-off format. Elsewhere, the Hungarian League Cup does not appeal! I'll also include some tennis today . Do enter it from a trading perspective. With the tennis I look for the following
  • Lay a player in the 3-0 set betting market if he wins the first set ( male in the Grand Slams)
  • Lay a player in the 3-0 set betting market if he is 1-0 or 2-0 sets up ( male in the Grand Slams)
  • Back the strong favourite if he/she loses the first set.
  • Look for a red hot favourite in crisis. I mean, for the ladies a set and set point down in the 2nd set. Look for the player to play themselves out when backed into a corner. For the men, it'll be 2 sets down in a first to 3 setter. With Dimitrov yesterday, I layed Sock at 1.05 2 sets and 3-0 up. Alas Dimitrov simply was there in body and not spirit.

1pm - Guangzhou FC v Seongnam Ilhwa  - 1.53 home

Standout Stats

  • This is the AFC Champions League.2-1 to Seongnam on the 20th May 2015 saw them win with a 90th minute penalty. Hardly convincing!

  • No win in 4 matches in all competitions.
  • Only 1 loss in 14 matches in all competitions at home came in this competition v Western Sydney
  • 2 consecutive score draws at home
  • In the AFC Champions League, Guangzhou have lost 3 and drawn 1 in their last 4 matches.
  • Guangzhou have conceded 90th minute goals in 3 of their last 4 matches in the AFC
  • If they can avoid this, they would not have lost those 3 matches.
  • Only 2 losses at home in 17 matches in the AFC. They lost their last home match . Will they really lose a 2nd consecutive home AFC match?

  • Only 1 loss in 12 matches came in the ACL v Gamba Osaka.
  • Only 3 losses in their last 16 away matches in all competitions.2 of those defeats were in the ACL. Interesting!
  • In 2015 ACL matches, Seongnam have lost to Buriram and Gamba Osaka.
  • 2 losses in their last 3 away matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • I don't think that Seongnam will win today. They were extremely lucky to win last time these 2 met. If Guangzhou learn from the past, then I hope they will stop conceding 90th minute goals as they have done in 3 of their last 4 matches.
  • I would lay Seongnam if they score first. If you don't think Guangzhou have learned from the past, then lay the late draw 90th minute or lay Guangzhou if they are leading 90th minute. I  don't see them losing a 2nd consecutive home match so that is my angle into this match.

1:45pm - Malaysia XI v Tottenham  - 1.11 away

Standout Stats

  • The first pre-season friendly and these are great for trading. I remember when Arsenal played the Malaysia XI. They were 0-1 down until the 90th minute when Arsenal won 1-2!
  • More of that today please!

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • 1.11 suggests goals before halftime but this is a pre-season friendly which will see a much changed Spurs side. Dangerous territory!

2:45pm - Rapid Bucharest v Pandurii  - 2.6 away

Standout Stats

  • This is a dead rubber on the last day of the season. I will not be researching this match.

2:45pm - Uni Cluj v Ceahlaul - 1.76 home

Standout Stats

  • This is another dead rubber between 16th and 18th of 18 in the Romanian Liga 1.

3:15pm - Atromitos v Asteras Tripolis  - 2.04 home

Standout Stats

  • 3 consecutive Atromitos wins ended with a Tripolis win in head to heads
  • This is 5th v 4th in the Greek Super League.
  • We are entering a 4 team play-off now it seems between Panathanaikos, PAOK, Asteras Tripolis and Atromitos. I guess this has some European competition connotations.
  • So far, Atromitos drew with PAOk, lost to Panathanaikos, and Asteras lost 4-0 to Panathanaikos and drew with PAOK.
  • The form is similar making this a tough match to predict. The fact it is a play-off too means that tactics may play a part.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • In another terrible football coupon today, this is another match I have to give a wide berth to.

3:30pm - Utenis Utena v Trakai  - 1.5 away

Standout Stats

  • Trakai won 5-1 in March 2015
  • This is the Lithuanian A Lyga between 8th v 2nd. Only 13 matches into the season, Trakai could go top with a win today.

Utenis Utena

  • Only 3 wins all season came away , 2 were 0-1 wins.
  • 1-1-1-0-0- scored in the 5 home matches this season.

  • 11 consecutive wins scoring 2+ goals in their last 10 matches.
  • Trakai have scored in all matches this season.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • It looks like a team in great momentum v a team umming and ahhing at home. With Utenis only scoring 1 goal generally at home, lay them if they score first, better yet back Trakai and hope Trakai score 2 goals + as they do regularly. This should be an easy with for the away side. Do note my Lithuanian league skills are, erm, not that sharp!
  • Over 2.5 goals expected today I would hope. In the expectation for goals, lay the 0-0 halftime score.

4:30pm - Honved v Ferencvaros  - 1.95 away

Standout Stats

  • This is the Hungarian League Cup
  • 4 Ferencvaros wins to nil and a draw in the last 5 head to heads.
  • On the 12th May 2015, Ferencvaros won 3-0.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • I am assuming that this is the 2nd leg of the Hungarian League Cup. Ferenvaros can afford a 2-0 loss so this is a difficult match to gauge.

4:45pm - Concordia Chiajna v Petrolul Ploiesti  - 1.67 home

Standout Stats

  • Petrolul are unbeaten in the last 6 head to heads, 4 of the matches were draws.
  • This is 13th v 5th in the Romanian top league.
  • This is the last game of the season. Concordia need a win as I think the bottom 6 sides enter a play-off. This is the reason why the better side form wise ( Petrolul)

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • I won't research this as obviously 5th in the league Petrolul is the better side but Concordia need the win.
  • 2 consecutive home wins for Concordia with 2 clean sheets so there is hope.
  • Faith in the suggestion that the team which needs to win , will win? Lay Petrolul if they score first.
  • lay any late draw.

5pm - FK Jablonec v Slovan Liberec  - 1.66 home

Standout Stats

  • This is the Czech Cup.
  • 0-1 and 2-0 for Jablonec in the last 2 head to heads.
  • 7 wins in their last 8 for Jablonec in the Cup.
  • 5 wins and 2 losses for Slovan in their last 7 matches in the cup.
  • Neither side has had a draw in the last 7 matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Lay the late draw. Both teams tend to avoid the draw in the cup. Slovan lost 2-0 v Jablonec in 2013
  • Favour the home side and lay Slovan if they score first.

5:30pm - SV Grodig v Rapid Vienna  - 1.7 away

Standout Stats

  • Recent head to heads favour the home side. 2-2, 2-2, 3-1 in the last 3 head to heads at Grodig.
  • This is 8th of 10 v 2nd in the Austrian Bundesliga.
  • 3 matches remaining this season. Rapid Vienna will not catch Red Bull in 1st. They will want to remain 2nd though so there is motivation.

SV Grodig

  • 3-1 for Rapid Vienna very recently .no draw in 12 away matches
  • Have conceded in those 12 away matches.
  • 2-2-3-2-2 - 2 conceded in their last 6 matches.
  • Only 4 wins in 16 matches.
  • The last 2 wins were 3-2 so they are battling wins.
  • 5 clean sheets only
  • Only 1 0-0 at home

Rapid Vienna

  • No defeat in 10 matches and in 4 away
  • Scored in their last 9 away matches.
  • Only 1 loss in 18 matches.
  • Only 1 loss in 8 away matches.
  • Failed to score in only 4 matches and did fail to score in their last match.
  • Both teams have scored in 81% of away matches.
  • No 0-0 away

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Both teams to score here has a great chance based on head to heads and Rapid's away stats. Add to this Grodig conceding 2+ in recent matches , we can lay Grodig if they are 1-0 or 2-0 up .
  • Lay any late 0-0.
  • Lay the 0-0 halftime score as I expect goals in this match

7:45pm - Dnipro v Sevilla  - 1.62 away

Standout Stats

  • This is the Europa League Final. Dnipro surprised many by keeping odds on Napoli quiet over both legs of the semi-final.
  • 0-0-2-0-1-0-0-1-0 conceded by Dnipro in this Europa League campaign. Defence is their key to success.
  • 8 wins and a 2-2 draw for Sevilla in their Europa League campaign.
  • Sevilla have scored 2+ goals in their last 7 Europa League matches.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • This final has the feel of a classic Defence ( Dnipro) v Attack ( Sevilla) if Europa League form is anything to go by.
  • Back 0-0 pre-match and trade out at halftime incase Dnipro keep Sevilla as quiet as they kept Napoli. BUT, the Napoli match was a 2-legged affair.

French Open Tennis

I am sorry, I have run out of time with the 10am starts! 10am - Samantha Stosur v Amandine Hesse  - 1.08 Sam 22nd v unranked Hesse from French. No head to heads. As I wrote earlier, Sam Stosur is a recent clay court tournament winner. 1.32 for Sam Stosur 2-0 set betting has a great chance. She is the woman with momentum. Hesse lost easily to Alize Cornet in the US Open and this could be a repeat. 10am - Heather Watson v Sloane Stephens  - 1.43 Sloane Guernsey's finest battled through to win. Sloane Stephens is the price Heather was last time she played. This is interest. 45th ranked Heather plays 40th placed Sloane. Heather has won in the last 4 head to heads. She dropped a set twice in 2012 but in 2015 in Hobart, she won 6-3, 6-1 on the hard court. 2 1st round exits, a 2nd round exit to Carla for Heather recently. Sloane reached the semi's in Strasbourg. On form I would favour Sloane Stephens but I could see this being competitive. I hope Heather takes a set and I would lay the first set winner to win 2-0 here today. I hope I'm right and the market is wrong. 11:30am - Kei Nishikori v Thomaz Bellucci  - 1.12 Kei 5th v 40th in the world. 2.02 for 3-0 sets. It is a long journey to win 3-0 . Bellucci won in 2007 and that match can be ignored I think Nishikori has lost only to Murray and Djokovic, an elite group Bellucci reached the final in Geneva on Clay and won. There must be some confidence residue from this. The 2nd set for Nishikori was 7-5 so we may see a Kei blip here at some stage. I do expect Nishikori to win 3-0 but I would lay him 3-0 up at the start of the 2nd set in the hope Bellucci creates that Kei middle set blip and takes it to 5-5 or even 6-6. 12pm - Alize Cornet v Alexandra Dulgheru  - 1.88 Alize Alize was near evens for the 1st round and with the help of Les Locals, she won that match 29th v 51st in the rankings.. Most recently in Doha this year, Cornet lost in 3 sets. Hence the trepidation about the odds. I would lay Alize if she won the first set. Indeed it might be the case to lay the first set winner here in what could possibly be a 3 setter and featuring a tie breaker 1:30pm - Fabio Fognini v Benoit Paire  - 1.3 Fabio Foggy was great in winning 3-0 at a tasty price in the earlier round. He plays French hope Benoit Paire and his odds have risen slightly for this round.  27th v 71st in the World.  Paire won 6-1 6-4 on clay in 2012. That's a long time ago to be of strong relevance today. Paire struggled in 5 sets in the first round against Gastao Elias, ranked 152nd and that could be damning today. Paire will get a lift from his froggie mates today and may take a set but Foggy should out. I hope Paire lands an early blow and would be with Foggy throughout . I will hope his odds rise in-play. 1:30pm - Mirjana Lucic-Baroni v Simona Halep  - 1.05 Simona 70th v 3rd in the world. I made some amazing money with Lucic-Baroni when she played Madison Keys recently. She was playing the 1st seed in Geneva and took a 5-2 lead first set. She won 6-4. In the 2nd set, she was 5-1 up and lost that set 7-6! I know, I layed Mirjana at 1.03 and wrote off the lay and turned the match off. To say I was delighted was an under statement. Was Madison Keys off colour here or is this a sign of some potential from the 70th ranked player? Do watch out therefore for a potential grab for a set, only to fall by the wayside. Halep lost 1-2 to my ole pal , Carla Suarez Navarro in the semi final in Italy, so has the better form. Please Mirjana, do as you did with Madison Keys, and look as if you are cruising to a 2-0 only to crash and burn spectacularly! Simona should be too clinical though. 1:30pm - Gael Monfils v Diego Sebastian Schwartzman  - 1.15 Gael Gael won 3-1 when he had the 2nd set in his grasp. He is prone therefore to the odd mental lapse. A cautious 2.02 for 3-0 sets.  There is no Betfair form for these players.  No head to heads between 14th and 62nd seeds. Limited stats to work with. I would consider laying Monfils 3-0 sets if he wins the first set.  I would certainly be with Gael today if Diego wins the first set . 130pm - Yulia Putintseva v Elina Svitolina  - 1.19 Elina 1:30pm - Radek Stepanek v Tomas Berdych  - 1.04 Tomas the last time these 2 met was 2011 so irrelevant. 4th v 129th in the world. Stepanek is a recogniseable name but obviously on the decline. Only Federer and Nadal have beaten Berdych recently. He plays a fellow Czech and that might be an x factor here. Stepanek though has 2 1st round exits and a 2nd round exit to his name. Old big thighs should have too much for him here. 3-0 is at 1.46 1:30pm - Ajla Tomljanovic v Angelique Kerber  - 1.26 Kerber 58th v 11th in the world. 1.8 for 2-0 Kerber is a bit cautious of the market. These 2 have yet to meet. Ajla lost to Sam Stosur in the quarter finals on clay in Geneva.Kerber retired in the semi finals in Nurnberg on clay and met Babos in the first round who herself retired. Kerber should be very rested you'd think here. I have a feeling the Nurnberg tournament was an obligation as she was German. If it was not an injury worry, I think she should be rested enough to make her top 11 ranking count toda 3pm - Magdalena Rybarikova v Flavia Pennetta  - 1.2 Flavia 57th v 28th in the world. Not much of a gap in the rankings. The head to heads came back in 2009 A 2nd round exit to Jelena Jankovic in Italy  for Magda was badly franked by Jelena being dumped out of the French open yesterday. 1st round exits in Italy and Madrid on clay for Pennetta suggests that 1.2 is slightly too short to be backed and I would consider laying from the off here. 3pm - Pablo Andujar v Philipp Kohlschreiber  - 1.45 Phil 42nd v 28th and I think this is going to be a tighter match than the odds suggest. 3-0 is in jeopardy here I think. In both head to head wins for Kohl, 2 sets went to a tie breaker. I think this will be the case today so lay the first set winner perhaps in the 3-0 set betting market and hope for a tie breaker to quickly follow. Tie breakers are generally a lottery so could go either way. Kohl lost to Andy Murray in Madrid and retired in Italy. It seems Go Soeda retired in the first round .Andujar reached the quarter finals in Geneva. It all points to a ding dong battle you feel today. Good for trading. 3:30pm - Ana Ivanovic v Misaki Doi  - 1.14 Ana 7th v 103rd in the rankings, Ana ( phoarr) is 1.39 to win in 2 straight sets.In 4 of Ana ( phoarr)'s last 5 matches both players have won a set so do watch out for that. She did win a set against Carla Suarez Navarro in Madrid so some promise there as Carla is arguably the women's form player. Doi went out 1st round in Italy, quarter final Nurnberg, and won 2-0 first round French Open. There are no head to heads. Ana should win based on rankings but if dropping the first set, have faith in her winning the next 2 sets. 3:30pm - Bryan/Bryan v Klaasen/Y Lu  - 1.13 Bry No research required really . The Bryan brothers are the kings of men's doubles so let's hope the Lu partnership nick the first set to allow us to trade. 3:30pm - Carla Suarez Navarro v Virginie Razzano  - 1.07 Carla 8th v 182nd . Razzano won the solitary head to head in 2013. Life has changed for Carla since then 1.27 for 2-0 sets is very enticing.
