GERMAN BUNDESLIGA

12:30 - Werder Bremen v Wolfsburg - 2.15 Wolfsburg

  • Leaving this to the in-play stats, what with Werder's relegation battle and big improvement since the return. Will Werder continue to silence teams with a good reputation for goals?

14:30 - Union Berlin v Schalke - 2.45 Union Berlin

Union Berlin

  • 4 losses and 2 draws last 6 matches.
  • Loss, Draw, Loss, Draw last 4 at home.
  • Conceded last 8 and last 4 at home.
  • No 0-0.
  • 2-1 loss v Schalke earlier this season.

Schalke

  • 6 losses and 4 draws last 10 matches.
  • Failed to score in 8 of their last 11 matches.

Conclusions

  • Cut this short as Schalke should be beating Union Berlin but as you can see, failed to score in 8 of their last 11 matches.
  • Potential to lay any late 0-0.

17:00 - Augsburg v Koln - 2.6 Koln

  • It may look bad for Koln, 3 losses and 2 2-2's last 5 matches, and 2 consecutive losses. But, for me, if we take away the red card affected loss v Hoffenheim, Koln have only lost to the top 4 since 14th December.
  • 1-1 v Augsburg last time these 2 met.
  • Koln have been much improved and I cannot understand why they are not stronger favourites today.
  • Perhaps the market is giving Augsburg a chance because Koln have only 1 loss (2-3) v 8th and lower at home.
  • Watching brief via the in-play stats. I cannot, though, forget that Koln generally have only lost to the top 4 only since December 2019.

GERMAN BUNDESLIGA 2

12:30 - Aue v Karlsruhe - 2.25 Aue

Aue - 9th

  • A draw and 2 losses last 3 matches.
  • 2 wins and a loss last 3 at home.
  • Only lost one home match at halftime.
  • 100% wins at home v 11th and lower.
  • 1-1 last time these 2 met.
  • 11 of 14 goals conceded at home came 2nd half.

Karlsruher - 16th

  • Only 2 wins in 14 matches.
  • 3 consecutive draws.
  • Only 1 win home and away v the top 10.

Conclusions

  • On seasonal form, Aue appeal most. Only 2 wins in 14 for Karlsruhe. Do remember where Karlsruhe are in the league. The need for points may see them play above their form expectation (as advertised by the 3 consecutive draws). The fact remains that Aue have 1-00% wins at home v 11th and lower.

12:30 - Hannover v Heidenheim - 2.25 Hannover

Hannover - 6th

  • Only 1 loss in 6 matches came away.
  • Unbeaten in 7 at home.
  • Scored in their last 6 and last 9 at home.
  • 4 0-0's at halftime at home, only 1 at fulltime.
  • Only 3 home defeats v 1st, 5th and 15th.. Only 3 wins though v 8th, 9th and 18th. A case of drawitis.
  • Not beaten the top 5 home or away. 4-0 loss v Heidenheim earlier this season.

Heidenheim - 4th

  • 3 losses in the last 15 matches came away.
  • No win in 3 away.
  • 7 0-0's at halftime away (50%) but only 2 0-0's at fulltime.
  • Did lose to 1st and 5th away and play 6th today.
  • 11 of 12 goals scored away came 2nd half.

Conclusions

  • A top 6 clash and I cannot see the strongest side here. I suppose if Heidenheim are to lose, it will be away. They have 3 losses in their last 15 matches, all coming away.
  • You may want to back 0-0 pre match. 50% chance of it in a Heidenheim match. If Heidenheim are to score it tends to come 2nd half.
  • Hannover are unbeaten in 7 at home but notably have not beaten the top 5 home or away. Do note that.

12:30 - Stuttgart v Osnabruck - 1.47 Stuttgart

Stuttgart - 2nd

  • 2 consecutive wins now stems the tide of 3 defeats and a draw.
  • Failed to score in only 4 matches.
  • No defeat in 8 at home, scoring in the last 8.
  • Only 2 home losses v 7th and 17th. Both of these sides did the double over them this season.
  • 1-0 loss to Osnabruck earlier this season.
  • 20 of 30 goals scored at home came 2nd half.

Osnabruck - 14th

  • Scored 2 goals at least in 4 of their last 5 matches.
  • Only 1 win in 12 came last away match.
  • Scored in their last 9 away.
  • Both teams scored away v the top 5 without Osna winning.
  • 13 of 17 goals scored away came 2nd half.

Conclusions

  • Beware. Stuttgart's 2 losses at home saw their victors do the double over them this season. Already Osnabruck have won the earlier encounter.
  • Really on form though, Stuttgart should be feeling confident, no defeat in 8 at home and getting over their recent malaise. But remember my 'Beware' you value seekers!

PORTUGUESE PRIMEIRA LIGA

21:00 - Rio Ave v Pacos Ferriera - 1.65 Rio Ave

Rio Ave - 5th

  • 3 draws in 4.
  • Unbeaten in 9 and in 4 at home.
  • 0-0 last time these 2 met.
  • 2 of 3 losses at home v 14th and 15th and play 16th today.

Pacos Ferreira - 16th

  • 2 wins in 3 matches part of a run of 5 losses in 7 matches.
  • Conceded last 7 matches.
  • Only 2 away wins v 3rd and 8th.

Conclusions

  • Rio Ave are in good nick.
  • The market is with Rio Ave but I note they lost to 14th and 15th at home. In-play stats for me, with Rio Ave favoured only really based on their odds.

AUSTRIAN BUNDESLIGA

16:00 - Hartberg v Salzburg - 1.2 Salzburg

Hartberg

  • It's that boy Tadic who got a last gasp winner v LASK Linz last match in this 'Championship Group'. If I was a manager of a club, I'd snap that boy Tadic up. He looks like a good finisher.
  • That win was the first match on the return of football.
  • 2 draws and a loss last 3 at home included a 2-2 v Red Bull Salzburg and Rapid Vienna so if Hartberg can tap into that, this could be a competitive affair.
  • Having kept only 3 clean sheets, wins to nil are very rare.
  • Conceded last 10 and last 9 at home.
  • 15 of 18 goals conceded at home came 2nd half.

Red Bull Salzburg

  • 2 consecutive 2-0 wins at home last 2 matches. Includes a win v Rapid Vienna, in a match touted for both teams to score. Improved Red Bull defense?
  • 2+ goals scored in each of their last 7 matches.
  • Scored in their last 23 and last 11 away.
  • No 0-0 at halftime away.

Conclusions

  • Red Bull were excellent against Rapid Vienna, who are arguably a better form side than Hartberg. I'd expect 2+ goals from Red Bull again here. Hartberg did get on the score sheet last head to head. If they score, or even lead 2-0, they are layable.

16:00 - Wolfsberger v LASK Linz - 2.15 LASK Linz

  • Another 'Championship group' match and I am not sure whether seasonal form will carry on through. After all LASK Linz fell flat against Hartberg with that boy Tadic nicking a very late 1-2 winner.
  • 4th v 1st from seasonal form.
  • Wolfsberger, over the season, failed to beat a top 5 side at home. 1-3 loss at home v LASK and 0-1 win away v LASK this season.
  • 100% wins away for LASK Linz over the season. Will that continue today? As I said earlier, they fell flat somewhat v Hartberg, a side they scored 7 goals in 2 matches v this season but only limped to 1 goal v Hartberg.
  • In-play stats for me with a nod towards LASK.

18:30 - Rapid Vienna v Sturm Graz - 1.8 Rapid Vienna

  • Another Championship group match.
  • 4th v 5th in the league. A look I think only at the Challenge Table.
  • At home, Rapid Vienna lost to 1st, 2nd  and 12th. 1-1 draw and 0-1 win v Sturm Graz this season.
  • v the top 5 at home this season, Rapid Vienna failed to score than 2nd goal.
  • Sturm Graz conceded 3-2 goals v the top 2 away and kept Rapid Vienna 1-1.
  • The market opts for Rapid Vienna here but they will have to improve their goalscoring record which is poor. No sign of that 2nd goal.
  • I will have to leave this to in-play stats.

DANISH SUPER LIGA

16:00 - AaB Aalborg v AGF Aarhus - 2.35 AaB

AaB Aalborg - 6th

  • Only 3 losses in 14 matches.
  • A loss and 2 wins in their last 3 at home.
  • Scored in their last 6 and last 5 at home.
  • No 0-0 at home.
  • 3-0 loss to AGF earlier this season.
  • Did beat 2nd and 4th at home.

AGF Aarhus - 3rd

  • Only 1 loss in 11 matches came v bottom side Silkeborg, a side who did the double over AGF this season.
  • 4 consecutive away wins ended with a loss last away.
  • Scored and conceded last 4 away.
  • 5 0-0's at halftime away, none at fulltime.
  • 13 of 17 goals scored away came 2nd half.
  • Lost to 7th and 8th away and play 6th today.

Conclusions

  • Both sides are losing infrequently.
  • Lay any 2nd half 0-0.

16:00 - FC Copenhagen v Randers - 1.42 Copenhagen

FC Copenhagen - 2nd

  • Only 1 loss at home. 0-1 win v Randers earlier this season.
  • All wins bar a draw and a loss at home.
  • 7 wins in a row at home ended with a loss last home match.
  • No draw in 8 at home.
  • Conceded last 6 and last 5 at home.
  • 4 0-0's at halftime at home, only 1 0-0 at fulltime.
  • 17 of 26 goals scored at home came 2nd half.

Randers - 7th

  • Last 2 defeats came at home.
  • Conceded last 4 and last 6 away.
  • Only 1 0-0 all season.

Conclusions

  • Dead rubber(ish) hasn't stopped Copenhagen playing well recently. Just check the in-play stats because of the dead rubber status - Copenhagen remain 2nd regardless.
  • Copenhagen score a lot 2nd half. Note that.

16:00 - Hobro v Lyngby - 2.37 Hobro

  • 12th v 8th.
  • 8 draws at home this season for Hobro. All draws at home v 7th and lower.
  • 2-1 loss v Lyngby last time these 2 met.
  • Hobro only beat one side at home this season, Copenhagen!
  • Hobro are relegation threatened and that is reflected in recent better results. Only 2 losses in 8 matches. 2 draws and a win last 3 matches.
  • 4 draws in 5 at home for Hobro, only losing to strong side Midtjylland.
  • Lyngby have been poor away. Only win v bottom side. 4 losses in 5 for Lyngby
  • And that's it! 2.37 the favourite about right here. A slight hint towards Hobro here given their unbeaten run of draws at home v 7th and lower.

16:00 - Horsens v Brondby - 1.95 Brondby

Horsens - 9th

  • 100% defeats v the top 7 at home.
  • 1-2 win v Horsens earlier this season.
  • 2 consecutive away 0-1 wins for Horsens really catches the eye as they beat Copenhagen and Midtjylland. This suggests the Horse cannot be discounted meeting another Danish Giant.
  • 4 home wins though ended with 2 consecutive home defeats.
  • Scored and conceded last 5 at home. Scored in their last 8 at home.
  • Only 2 0-0's at halftime at home.

Brondby - 4th

  • Only 1 loss in 6 matches.
  • 3-2 and 2-2 last 2 away matches.
  • Failed to score in only 2 matches.
  • Scored last 17 matches and last 9 away.
  • 2+ goals scored away last 3 matches.
  • Only 2 0-0's at halftime away.
  • 4 wins away did come v 8th and lower.

Conclusions

  • Due deference to the Horse. 2 big scalps and away from home in their last 2 matches. They cannot be discounted therefore v Brondby. Brondby did win 1-0 last match and will be seeking to do that again. They still need points. Dare we lay the Horse if they score first but cover the 1-0 in case it's another big scalp 1-0?
  • Lay the 0-0 in the halftime score market.

16:00 - Nordsjaelland v Midtjylland - 2.00 Midt

  • Tough match to read as Midtjylland showed distinct lack of interest last match. They cannot be caught. Nordjaelland have plenty still to play for so this match is well worth following, albeit via in-play stats.
  • 5 wins and a 2-2 for Nords. Midtjylland lost to Horsens last match.

16:00 - OB Odense v Esbjerg - 1.95 OB

  • If this is the last match of the season, OB could leap 2 places with a win (other results pending) and Esbjerg  will remain 2nd bottom with a win.
  • 0-1 win for OB v Esbjerg last time these 2 met.
  • OB have lost only to the top 4 at home.
  • Esbjerg have only 1 away win v bottom side Silkeborg. That was the only match in which they scored 2 goals.

16:00 - SonderjyskE v Silkeborg - 1.8 Sonder

  • 11th v 14th (bottom).
  • 6 wins only for Sonder this season.
  • Draw, Win, Win, Draw at home last 4 matches. Concerted effort.
  • Conceded in their last 16 and last 9 away.
  • Both teams scored in Sonder's last 7 home matches.
  • Only 2 0-0's at halftime at home for Sonder.
  • 3-3 last time these 2 met. Sonder are unbeaten home and away v 10th and lower.
  • Only 1 win away for Silkeborg . 3/3 score draws away v the bottom 4.
  • Silkeborg have conceded in their last 25 matches and last 12 away.
  • Only 1 0-0 at halftime away.
  • Angles? Silkeborg tend to draw away v the bottom 4 so lay them if they score first.
  • Lay the 0-0 in the halftime score market.

GREEK SUPER LEAGUE

  • Another league with a Championship Group and a Relegation Group. This is the former today it seems. All of the big guns are playing.

17:15 - AEL Larissa v Asteras - 2.5 AEL

  • The home side has tended to win head to heads.
  • Only 2 wins in 14 matches for AEL came at home.
  • 3-0 win and 1-1 draw AEL this season v Asteras.
  • 8th v 10th from the season long form. Larissa lost only 1 match at home v teams below them in the league.
  • 100% defeats for Asteras away v the top 9 this season. Asteras lost only 1 of their last 7 matches.
  • Angles? 2.5 the favourite puts me off. In-play stats. Asteras 100% defeats v top 9 this season really catches the eye though doesn't it?

17:30 - PAOK v Olympiacos - 2.4 PAOK

  • This too high profile a derby match to put forth an angle bar the head to heads. That said, this match minus a crowd is a real pity.
  • 0-3, 3-1, 0-1, 3-2 last 4 head to heads at PAOK tells us little. Fluctuates a lot.
  • Olympiakos are unbeaten this season. They recently beat PAOK 0-1 at PAOK 2 matches ago so for me are the side that gets the nod on what form we have to work with.
  • The question is whether Greece will be as affected crowd-less as Portugal has been.

19:30 - AEK Athens v Panathinaikos - 1.67 AEK

  • 3rd v 4th here in the Greek Championship Group.
  • Only 1 loss since 7th December 2019 plays only 2 losses since 3rd November 2019.
  • 6 wins and a draw for AEK last 7 home matches.
  • No defeat in 12 at home for AEK Athens.
  • 8 consecutive under 2.5 goals matches away for Pana.
  • 1-0 win and 3-2 loss for AEK this season v Pana.
  • Only 1 home loss for AEK Athens.
  • Pana failed to beat the top 6 away.
  • On seasonal form, favour AEK Athens.
  • Pana have kept things tight of late so may offer some resistance.

CROATIAN HNL

17:55 - Istra v Rijeka - 1.54 Rijeka

Istra - 8th

  • Only 4 wins, the last 2 were 1-0 and came within the last 3 home matches.
  • Scored last 5 at home.
  • 0-3 loss and 2-0 loss v Rijeka this season.
  • All defeats bar a 1-1 home and away v the top 4.

Rijeka - 3rd

  • 3wins in 4 came at home.
  • 3 losses and a draw away last 4 matches.
  • All wins bar a 1-1 home and away v 7th and lower.

Conclusions

  • The market looks right here. Rijeka tend to beat sides 7th and lower.

20:05 - NK Lokomotiva v Osijek - 2.5 NK

CZECH FIRST LEAGUE

14:00 - Karvina v Ceske Budejovice - 2.25 Karvina

14:00 - Opava v Slovacko - 2.1 Slovacko

Opava - 15th

  • Only 4 wins all season, 3 were 1-0.
  • Only 1 win in 10 matches.
  • Failed to score in 12 of their last 16 matches.
  • 7 0-0's at halftime at home, only 1 at fulltime.
  • No win home or away v the top 7.
  • 4-0 loss v Slovacko earlier this season.
  • 12 of 16 goals conceded at home came 2nd half.

Slovacko - 6th

  • 2 losses last 9 matches.
  • 5 clean sheets in 6 matches.
  • 2 0-0's last 3 away.
  • Only 1 loss home and away v 9th and lower.
  • 100% wins v 14th and lower.

Conclusions

  • Slovacko have the form in the bag, 100% wins v 14th and lower. I thought the market would be a bit warmer.
  • Lay any 2nd half 0-0.

16:00 - Olomouc v Banik Ostrava - 2.62 both sides

16:00 - Teplice v Jablonec - 2.1 Jablonec

Teplice - 12th

  • Only 2 wins in 15 matches came at home.
  • Failed to score in 4 of their last 6 matches.
  • 6 0-0's at halftime at home and only 2 at fulltime.
  • 4-1 loss to Jablonec earlier this season.
  • Only 1 win home and away v the top 6.
  • Only 1 loss at home v the top 7 came v 1st. 4 1-1 draws there.
  • 11 of 15 goals scored at home came 2nd half.

Jablonec - 4th

  • Only 1 win in 6 matches. 2 consecutive losses.
  • Conceded last 6 away matches.
  • 3 0-0's at halftime away, none at fulltime
  • Only 2 losses home and away v 6th and lower.
  • Only 1 loss away v 6th and lower.

Conclusions

  • Both sides have poor recent form. Teplice have good form at home v the top 7, but 4 1-1 draws might make them vulnerable.
  • Jablonec have excellent consistent form v 6th and lower. Only 2 losses. Nod to Jablonec?

18:00 - Slavia Prague v Vik. Plzen - 2.00 Slavia Prague

Slavia Prague - 1st

  • Only 2 losses came away from home.
  • 3 consecutive clean sheets.
  • Failed to score in only 4 matches.
  • Scored last 13 at home.
  • Scored first in 11/13 at home.
  • 0-1 win v Plzen earlier this season.

Plzen - 2nd

  • 7 consecutive wins.
  • 4 consecutive away wins.
  • 2+ goals scored in each of their last 4 away.
  • Scored in their last 13 and last 11 away.
  • 4/4 2-1 scorelines away v the top 5, 3 were wins.
  • 8 of 11 goals conceded away came 2nd half.

Conclusions

  • Top 2 clash so care needed. It was tight last time. Slavia Prague are formidable at home but Plzen overall have 7 consecutive wins.
  • 1-0, 1-2, 2-1 possible scorelines if Plzen continue their 2-1 pattern away v the top 5.
  • Lay any 2nd half 0-0.
