Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • PAOK are expected to score between 2-4 goals , that’s if they can put an end to a worrying sequence of 2 0-0’s at home. In Ergotelis they meet a team with just one win v top 10 home and away and all losses away v top 7 so they should not strike a blow. Away from home, PAOK have scored 3 goals in their last 2 away matches. Can this be transferred to this home match?
  • Tough to be confident with those 0-0’s at home  – the only 0-0’s of the season.
COMMENT : Clearly PAOK are having trouble scoring at home of late. 0-0 until the 82nd minute when PAOK scored. Laying the late 0-0 was a success. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Standout Stats

  • On the 3rd March this year, Lech Poznan won 1-5  which makes this home match tough to judge as I am assuming it is a 2 legged affair.
  • Top flight v II Liga so there is a distinct gap in the leagues.

Profitable In-Play Opportunities

  • Not a must win for Lech Poznan with such a commanding lead from the away match. 1-5 scoreline is emphatic.
  • No real angles in here at all. It seems all done and dusted.
COMMENT : - Tough to get a fix on here. Lech Poznan clearly the better team by a country mile but they did all of their work in the first leg.  This was 0-0 until the 89th minute. Any late 0-0 layers would be jumping through hoops! ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Plzen have won only 2 of the last 5 head to heads and they came away.
  • This season though Plzen are buzzing and have won all home matches. They have scored in their last 14 matches and could score again.
  • Plzen have won 11 of their last 12 matches and tend to score 2+ goals. Which is going against head to heads.
  • Slavia Prague should not win on recent form with only 2 wins in 14 matches. They do, though, seem capable in head to heads.
  • So which way to go?Head to heads or recent form?

  • There are about 5 matches left in this league. Ceahlaul need to start winning a few in order to extricate themselves from the relegation play-offs.  Steaua have a game in hand at the top , with a 4 point cushion.
  • Steaua tend to win in head to heads but have been poor of late. Ceahlaul though have no win in 15 matches and did fail to score in 3 of their last 4 home matches.
  • With the favourite is away to a side desparate for points, there is always the chance of a “Burnley v Man City” type of scoreline. But I feel I would lay Ceahlaul if they score first as Steaua have been quite emphatic away to bottom sides.

Standout Stats

  • These 2 teams have met really recently. 1-1  in the Scottish Cup and 0-2 to Celtic in the League Cup.
  • These have been 2 tetchy affairs with a total of 4 red cards in the 3 matches. Indeed it seems that the ties have been concluded with these red cards.
  • I would have to favour Celtic today as they won 0-2 away on the 15th March. It’s recent, and it’s emphatic enough.

  • If Dundee United score first, lay them.  They have not beaten Celtic twice in recent weeks.

  • Man City need to score 2 goals as they did against CSKA and Roma to go through , and that’s while keeping Barcelona out.
  • I cannot see it happening. City cannot stretch to the level of the  European big boys.
  • I think Barcelona will score at least 2 goals today and put it to bed. 0-1 is layable if  the scoreline arrives and is short enough as it is not enough for City to go through and will be incentive enough for Barcelona to try and finish the tie.
  • For Barca, a 0-0 will suffice. A 1-0 will sound the death knell for City.
COMMENT : Oh dear, a multi millionaire professional footballer missing a penlty. 1-0 Barca it ended up. Could have been 2-0. 1-0 knocked the stuffing out of Man City. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

19:45 UK Borussia Dortmund v Juventus – 2.25 home

  • This is not over. It is tough to get an angle into these matches . Permutation wise, Juventus won but Dortmund scored the away goal which could be critical. 2 consecutive 0-0’s for Dortmund could be viewed positively ( clean sheets) or negatively ( they must score today).  Dortmund need a 1-0 to go through and Juventus need a 0-0 bare minimum.
  • Juventus have been very poor away from home in this competition and that may not help today.
  • I’m afraid I cannot think of an angle in here.
COMMENT : 0-3 for Juventus in a match in which I had no angle I'm afraid. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

  • Forest should dominate today but it may take a while for a goal to be scored. If 0-0 at halftime, I would lay the 0-0 for the 2nd half.
  • Rotherham are unlikely to win today so lay them if they score first.
  • With Forest scoring 3-4-2-2 in their last 4 home matches, they could score 2 today so you might want to back Forest if Rotherham score first in the hope they score goals.
COMMENT : I got it right today, Forest scored 2 goals , both late late in the first half. No real DRT. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
