A quiet day today. Chelsea are in a rut at the moment and a West Brom adept at 0-0's under Pardew may make them suffer? We should see goals between Depor and Betis. Galatasary's match has a banker feel to it ( good for trading if Alanyaspor have not read the script). 2 Dutch eerste divisie games too ( usually a Friday league).

Champions League and Europa League will dominate this upcoming week.

ENGLISH PREMIER LEAGUE

20:00 - Chelsea v West Brom - 1.4 Chelsea

  • Chelsea have tended to win to nil in head to heads

Chelsea (5th)

  • 2 consecutive defeats v Bournemouth and Watford
  • failed to score in their last 2 home matches
  • 7 0-0's at halftime at home
  • 100% home win record v 11th and lower
  • clean sheet home wins v 14th and lower

West Brom (20th)

  • 12 games in for Pardew.
  • Only 1 win came v Brighton at home
  • v top teams, West Brom kept 3 0-0's, a 1-2 loss to Man Utd, and 3-0 loss to Man City
  • no win in 12 away
  • 5 0-0's at halftime away

Conclusions

  • very poor recent Chelsea form. Morata their top scorer does not play today and they welcome a West Brom side with the ability to dig out a 0-0
  • On form, Chelsea should win but may be made to wait for the first goal. You could back 0-0 pre match and try to cash out at halftime if West Brom are resolute today and if Chelsea do not fire today.
  • Only one win for Pardew as manager of West Brom should not continue today.
  • Chelsea a mis-performing Chelsea side here today minus their top scorer. Surely not another miserable hammering by a struggling side?

SPANISH LA LIGA

20:00 - Deportivo v Real Betis - 2.28 Deportivo

  • 1-1 and 2-1 Betis in the last 2 head to heads

Deportivo (19th)

  • only 3 clean sheets
  • conceded 16 goals in their last 4 matches
  • only 1 win in 12 matches
  • scored and conceded in 4 of their last 5 matches
  • no 0-0 at halftime in 11 matches
  • no 0-0 at home
  • only 1 home defeat v 11th and lower ( reminiscent of Huddersfield on Saturday!)
  • only failed to score at home against the 2 Madrids

Real Betis (11th)

  • 5 consecutive over 2.5 goals matches
  • 3-2-5-2-1 conceded recently
  • only 4 clean sheets
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime in the last 12 matches
  • no 0-0
  • have beaten the bottom 2 2-1 at home and 0-2 away

Conclusions

  • rather like Huddersfield on Saturday we have a home side adept, it seems, v 11th and lower. IS that enough to nod towards Deportivo here?
  • This, despite Betis showing winning form v the bottom 2 this season.
  • Lay the 0-0 in the halftime score market based on recent patterns for both sides. A fear though that in reaction to conceding 16 goals in 4 matches, Depor may lurch to a more defensive set up.
  • We should hope for goals today and possibly both teams scoring. Both sides have trouble keeping clean sheets.
  • Lay Betis if Betis score first given Depor tend to concede first at home and tend to score at home too ( in all matches bar the 2 v the Madrid sides.)

TURKISH SUPER LIG

17:00 - Galatasaray v Antalyaspor - 1.29 Gala (shortlisted)

  • 3-1 Gala, 2-3 Gala and 1-1 in the last 3 head to heada

Galatasary (2nd)

  • 3 wins in 4 matches
  • failed to score in only 2 matches
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime in their last 10 matches
  • 5 consecutive home wins
  • no defeat in 10 at home
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime at home
  • 100% home wins v 5th and lower scoring 2 goals at least

Antalyaspor (15th)

  • scored and conceded last 6 matches and conceded in their last 14 matches
  • no win in 9 away
  • only 1 clean sheet all season
  • tend to concede 2 goals at least in all defeats v top 8 teams away
  • 2/3rd of away goals conceded 2nd half

Conclusions

  • It looks clear cut. Galatasary should score 2 goals at least and win. Simples. So take on any Antalyaspor lead.
  • A possibility to lay the 0-0 in the halftime score market given Galatasary have led at halftime in 7/10 home matches.A reasonably high percentage

DUTCH EERSTE DIVISIE

19:00 - Go Ahead Eagles v Emmen - 1.93 Emmen

  • 2 consecutive 0-0's in head to heads

Go Ahead Eagles (16th)

  • I think this is a replay of the postponed match on the 9th February
  • only 1 win in 12 matches
  • scored and conceded in 6 of their last 7 matches
  • only 3 clean sheets
  • not so bad at home. Only 2 losses v 11th and 12th

Emmen (7th)

  • only 3 defeats came away
  • 3 consecutive wins
  • failed to score in only 3 matches
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime in 11 matches
  • 3 away defeats v 13th, 18th and 19th

Conclusions

  • we could see both teams score today. Logically, Emmen are more likely NOT to lose today, having only 3 defeats all season.
  • Go Ahead though are reasonable at home with only 2 defeats.
  • But only 1 win in 12 sees very poor form.
  • I would lay any Go Ahead lead today

19:00 - Jong AZ Alkmaar v Fortuna Sittard - 2.12 Fortuna Sittard

  • 5-1 Fortuna in the last head to head

Jong AZ Alkmaar (18th)

  • only 1 win in 10 matches came last match
  • no clean sheet
  • only 1 0-0 at halftime at home
  • scored and conceded in all matches v top 10 at home, losing only to 1st
  • Infact, scored 2 goals at least v top 9 at home
  • 60% of goals scored and conceded at home came 2nd half

Fortuna Sittard (3rd)

  • 3 consecutive defeats
  • failed to score in only 5 matches
  • 2 consecutive away defeats without scoring
  • conceded in 8 away
  • conceded 2+ goals in each of their last 4 away
  • only played one of the bottom 5 away and that was a win
  • all wins v bottom 5, 4 though at home
  • 15 of 20 goals scored away came 2nd half

Conclusions

  • a strange old match. A side in poor season-long form are scoring 2+ goals v top 9 teams at home and only losing one match.
  • A team 3rd in the league, have lost their last 3 , lost their last 2 without scoring away and conceded 2+ goals in each of their last 4 away
  • I could see both teams score. Fortuna may be given a chance to score by  a Jong side without a clean sheet this season.
  • I think 2-2 might be a goer here today given Jong AZ tend to score 2 v top 9 and concede.
  • Note Fortuna score 75% of their away goals 2nd half so if AZ lead early on they may be vulnerable 2nd half.
  • I would lay the 0-0 in the halftime score market based on Jong at home, Jong scoring 2 goals v top 9 and Jong not keeping a clean sheet this season.
